ESV, 1.3, other apps...

Now that Hooked: Pocket Fishing is doing very well, (it hit #43 most popular on the entire AppStore today!) I’m back full steam on BibleXpress version 1.3, and getting that ESV formatting parsed.  Just so y’all know exactly how it stands, the ESV currently has subheadings & paragraph breaks, and I’m working on red-letters and small-caps.

In version 1.3, I’m changing up the interface of how to use notes.  Notemarks are being moved to the bookmark tab, which should reduce the number of taps it takes to create them in the right folder and rename them.  It will also help make the association of notemarks being placed in the bookmark structure easier on y’all.

I’m also altering the way in which verse notes are displayed on the screen.  It may take a little getting used to at first, but I think y’all will like it much more - it will be easier to see if you have typed in notes for the scripture you’re reading.

Version 1.3 also has an entirely new feature, which my beta testers have said “wow, ok, I didn’t realize that would be so useful!”

The Message will be added in version 1.3.

I’m also making a “down payment” on version 1.4.  I’ve added a checkmark to each search result as you tap them so that you know which ones you have read and which ones you have left to read.  Version 1.4 will see a much updated search feature.

In the image, from left to right: checkmarks on search results, formatted ESV with subheadings, notemarks in the bookmark hierarchy, and a sneak peak at a new feature.

And finally - I will actually get around to making a new version 1.3 tutorial.  I didn’t have enough hard drive space to record the video previously, but this past weekend I got a much larger hard drive, so look for a new posting within the week.

Please continue praying for both the NIV & NLT.
